This quiz is based on the lessons in Class 3 of chessKIDS academy. You should take the quiz when you are sure you understand the names of the squares, the values of the pieces and basic opening principles, and you are sure you can find moves to win pieces, checkmates in one move and ways to get out of check.

The lessons can also be found in the Beginners' and Improvers' sections (where they are indicated with three asterisks) of the chessKID part of the website.
