Perhaps the most important chess skill for beginners is looking for captures. Every move you should look to see if you can take something for nothing, or a stronger piece with a weaker piece.

Try our lesson on LOOKING FOR CAPTURES if you haven't done so already.

As always, you're NOT ALLOWED TO CHEAT BY CHANGING YOUR ANSWER. Pupils caught cheating are IMMEDIATELY EXPELLED from the school.

If you get all the questions right you will receive a CERTIFICATE so that you can show the world how clever you are. Print it off and keep it in a file. (Use the menu at the top of your browser or your right mouse button to print the certificate and return to the quiz.)
