I'm a bully. I beat up kids who are smaller and weaker than me. I also beat up kids who have nobody to defend them.

If you're fighting a battle it's very much the same thing.

If your army is bigger and stronger than your opponent's army you'll probably win the battle.

So your most important job as the general leading your army is to make sure this happens.

To do this you have to do a few things.

If you have a problem with being bullied at school find an adult you can trust who will help you deal with it. For a useful website visit Bullies to Buddies.
1. If you see an enemy soldier who is under attack but not defended order your soldier to kill him.

2. If you see an enemy soldier who is under attack by one of your weaker soldiers, again order your soldier to kill him. Yes, I know he'll get killed himself but that's what happens in war.

3. Look at the last enemy soldier to move and see if he is trying to kill one of your soldiers.

3. Before you tell one of your soldiers to move make sure he's not going to be killed for nothing, and not going to be killed by a weaker enemy soldier.

You should now go to school and take two lessons to make sure you understand this.

Next I'd like to find out if you really understand how to make sure your army is bigger and stronger than the enemy army.

Quiz 1 tests you on how good you are at finding enemies you can kill, either for nothing or in exchange for one of your weaker soldiers.

Quiz 2 tests how good you are at not getting your own troops killed.

If you really want to avoid making mistakes and losing battles you have to do a lot more than just make sure your move is safe.

You have to ask yourself whether the move you want to play allows checkmate, allows a fork, gets a piece pinned, moves away a defender to let one of your pieces be taken.
